Jazzique Chiverton

A little about me:

Growing up in Cox village Nevis and Buckleys Estate St Kitts. I was 4 years old and I remember hearing the kettle drums for the first time. It was mesmerizing. There began my journey of musical exploration.

With the help of my eleven loving siblings, I made a guitar from a piece of drift wood, fishing line, and an oil pan. I guessed it worked because that same guitar led many a concerts in the village church.

The church concerts led to my discovery! A British piano teacher saw my passion and asked my mother to enroll me in formal piano lessons. However times were tight and no money for such luxuries were available. Somehow my charm won her over and she exposed me to lines and spaces and the power of classical music.

Music has been my life story. So I share it with you. I hope you find it as sweet as my favorite fruit-a mango. Enjoy!

Kittinevisian artist, Jazzique Chiverton is proud to announce the completion and release of his solo album, “Son of a Mango” Jazzique describes the album as Caribbean Chic. Imagine this: You are relaxing aboard a sailboat sipping on a rum punch while looking out at a long turquoise beach scattered with sea grapes, coconuts and palms. Son of a Mango is the sounds coming off the speaker.

Caribbean Chic is the best term to describe the fusion of genres in this project. You have musical influences from the Caribbean-soca, reggae, dance hall, zouk, compa, and dub colliding with classical, jazz, pop, R&B, traps and the blues. Together interesting sounds emerged. Music soothes the savage beast and there is no bigger beast right now on Earth than the coronavirus. Jazzique hopes this album can bring a feeling of contentment in a world full of despair.

The soundtrack of an impossibly chic dinner party, mixing sophisticated electronica with reggae soul.
